The article provides an analytical review of modern scientific publications on the use of metallurgical industry waste, particularly steel, blast furnace, and copper slag, in the production of building materials. The article examines the physical and chemical properties of these wastes and their impact on the structure and performance of cement composites. Special attention is given to the environmental and technological aspects of the secondary use of slag. A comparative analysis of studies on the mechanical properties, durability, and carbonization activity of slag is conducted. The main trends and directions for further research have been identified. The frost resistance of concretes with MS during freezing and thawing, as well as the radiation impermeability of heavy concrete with MS and its ability to protect against ionizing radiation (gamma rays and neutrons), have not been studied and require further research.
