Publication Ethics & Malpractice Statement

EKTU Journal of Information and Communication Sciences is committed to maintaining high ethical standards in academic publishing. The journal follows internationally recognized guidelines, including those of COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics), to prevent and address research and publication misconduct.

Key responsibilities and policies include:

  1. Authors’ Responsibilities:
    • Submit original work and properly cite sources.
    • Avoid duplicate or redundant publication.
    • Disclose any conflicts of interest.
    • Ensure accuracy and integrity of research data.
    • Obtain necessary ethical approvals for studies involving humans or animals.
  2. Editors’ Responsibilities:
    • Ensure a fair and unbiased review process.
    • Make decisions based on the quality and relevance of the manuscript.
    • Maintain confidentiality of submitted manuscripts.
    • Address complaints, allegations of misconduct, and ethical concerns promptly.
  3. Reviewers’ Responsibilities:
    • Provide constructive, objective, and timely feedback.
    • Maintain confidentiality and avoid conflicts of interest.
    • Identify relevant prior work not cited by the authors.
  4. Misconduct Handling:
    • Cases of plagiarism, falsification, fabrication, or unethical behavior will be investigated.
    • If confirmed, corrective actions may include rejection, retraction, or publication of an erratum.
